How Westmead Public School is inspiring excellence
Learning and thriving beyond the classroom
We are committed to academic excellence and personal growth. Our students benefit from strong classroom learning in literacy and numeracy, with over 80% of Year 5 students achieving strong or exceeding proficiency in NAPLAN numeracy.
Our Mathematics Olympiad teams consistently rank in the top 10% nationally, and our debating teams have been Zone Champions for four consecutive years. Beyond the classroom, students engage in creative and enrichment activities including dance groups, choirs, bands, public speaking, and art clubs.
Welcoming every learner
We warmly welcome students from all backgrounds, creating a safe, inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported. Our teachers and wellbeing teams work closely with families to co-design personalised learning plans that help students thrive academically from their very first day.
Our beautiful outdoor learning spaces, including a vegetable garden and a Yarning Circle, enrich students’ connection to nature and culture.
From the classroom to the sporting fields
We celebrate our community’s passion for sport and understand the vital role physical activity plays in every child’s growth. From their very first PE lesson to competing in sporting carnivals, gala days, and local competitions, our students receive excellent support to develop essential skills, teamwork, and confidence.
We honour every achievement, whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, or on the field, ensuring every child feels valued, stays active, and thrives as part of our dynamic Westmead school community.

Mrs Emma Smith, Principal of Westmead Public School
"Our family has had an excellent experience with WPS school. The teachers are exceptionally caring, attentive, and supportive, and they truly listen to the children. The wide range of non-academic programs has given my daughter wonderful opportunities to grow and showcase her talents, she enjoys school so much that she doesn’t want to miss a day."- Parent of a student at Westmead Public School
