Since Term 3, 6H worked very hard on a project where each student had to choose an Indigenous Australian, a person who has migrated to Australia or a person whose parent’s migrated to Australia and had a significant impact on our country. We called these people Notables because of all the notable (remarkable) things they have done. Students had to create resources for people to look at and interact with, as well as pretend to be that person. Each member of 6H became that person on the 21st October when we invited the rest of Year 6 into our classroom and area outside to interact with the chosen Notables. The visitors were able to take part in quizzes, games, raffles, look at timelines, biographies, artworks, PowerPoints and much more. 6H produced amazing work and were very believable as their Notables because they all had a lot of knowledge about the person. Teachers and students alike enjoyed meeting all the important Australians on show.
