Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents Committee and our Community Hub. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parent Committee

Our Westmead Parent Committee is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our Parent Committee is currently organising after school Diwali and Christmas events.

Joining the committee is a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Community Hub

Westmead PS is very proud to have a Community Hub. The Community Hub at Westmead Public School was established in February 2014 to work in partnership with families of Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds especially women and their children aged between 0-4 years old. While it was designed with this group in mind, the community hub is a resource for ALL families at Westmead PS and one which consistently has made a big impact supporting our parents and students.

At Westmead Public School, our Community Hub is an open, friendly and safe space that brings local information and services spanning the areas of education, health, employment, professional and personal development, early childhood, parenting and settlement.

Community Hubs   have been established in some select schools through a National program that links families and their preschool children to local services and support, learning opportunities and the wider community. The Community Hubs are funded by the Australian Government in partnership with the Scanlon Foundation, the Migration Council Australia and Refuge of Hope. There are hubs across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.
