Snake Tails was a fun, educational and interactive experience. The Year 1 EAL/D students were very brave, when a reptile expert came to our school and they were able to touch a snake! The snake was warm, scaly and dry. The Year 1 EAL/D students cleverly shared their understanding about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Do you know what these tricky words mean? Very impressive! Miss Hussein & Year 1 EAL/D
Year 2 really enjoyed the Snaketails Incursion even though some were a little scared before the show. They remembered that the Olive python felt like their mother’s leather handbag! Olivia from 2V was chosen to go out the front and have the Blue Tongue Lizard kiss her. The students found the name Long Neck Turtle easy to remember as it had the same name as the place they had recently been to for an excursion (Long Neck Lagoon).
Ms Miller & Year 2 EAL/D
Year 3 students had an engaging and interactive learning experience at the Snake Tails incursion. They attentively listened to all the information shared by the expert and enjoyed looking at all the animals. Students demonstrated curiosity by asking questions about the animals, touching and feeling them. Everyone seemed very excited and not scared at all! Miss Ihsan & Year 3 EAL/D
Year 4 loved the interesting facts about the various snakes. For example; the Fierce Snake venom story, the Red Belly Black snake food story and the limited sensory features of snakes. Touching a snake helped year 4 not to be as frightened of snakes and the funny stories had year 4 laughing! For example, they loved the bearded Dragon on the boy's head and the Blue Tongue Lizard licking a person! Year 4 really enjoyed the incursion and learnt many new fun and interesting facts. Mrs Walton & Year 4 EAL/D
